GHS, Hazard, and Caution Labels

GHS, Hazard, and Caution Labels

The Hazard Communication Standard was created to classify and label hazardous chemicals. The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (or GHS) is the industry standard of conveying the hazards of a particular chemical. GHS requires pictograms on labels to alert users of the chemical hazards to which they may be exposed. Each pictogram consists of a symbol on a white background framed within a red border and represents a distinct hazard(s). They are designed to be immediately recognizable to anyone handling hazardous material.

There are a total of 9 GHS symbols, or pictograms, in the standard. GMP Labeling's GHS Labels are ideal for use in laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and other environments where chemicals are stored and used. Manufactured using aggressive adhesive and a poly film, our GHS labels are purpose built for our customers to meet compliance and safety requirements.
